Welcome to Ridgeway Public School!

Ridgeway Public School is located on 143 Ridge Road in Ridgeway, Ontario. We are a community oriented school that works on developing strong ties with our neighbors. This gives us a strong sense of unity to our area and pride in being a part of the Fort Erie Community. Our school community works diligently in “Achieving Success Together” in a respectful, safe and challenging learning environment.

As of September 2010, the school uniquely serves students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 3. Our students leaving Ridgeway Public after grade 3 continue their educational experience at Bertie Public from grades 4 to 8.

At Ridgeway, we believe every student wants to be successful and that everyone should be treated with respect because everyone is special. All of the teachers at Ridgeway Public School are here to help you achieve your goals. Here are some tips to achieving success:

· Come to school every day, after a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast.
· Arrive at your classes with all the materials you need to participate fully.
· Be ready to start your lessons and be at school on time everyday.
· Participate in the lesson by helping others in your group, asking or answering questions and · working on the assignment in front of you.
· Treat others with respect and kindness the way you would like to be treated.
· Ask for help right away when you find the lesson difficult.
· Do your homework or review your work every night in a comfortable, quiet place.
· Get involved in school activities - choir, sports, clubs, Green club, chess team.
· Volunteer to assist a teacher, the custodian, or the secretary.
· Tell your family about what you are doing at school.

Success happens one day at a time. The key to success is to plan to be successful each and every day. The Student Agenda will help you plan and organize your time so that you can reach your goals. It gives you a place to record your daily homework and plan ahead to prepare for tests and projects. By using your student agenda effectively, you will always know what is going on and be ready to participate. The Student Agenda is also a great tool for parents to stay in communication with teachers on a daily basis.
